How to apply a patch

Application

Four ways to attach a patch, and how to pick between them.

  • Iron-on — heat-activated adhesive on the back. Fast, and the least permanent. Full guide →
  • Sew-on — the only method that survives industrial laundering indefinitely.
  • Velcro (hook and loop) — for anything that has to come off: tactical gear, rank, morale patches.
  • Adhesive / peel-and-stick — temporary. Events, samples, single-wear garments.
