Laser cut files
We design custom laser cut files and templates in SVG and DXF — signs, ornaments, boxes, layered wall art, earrings, keychains, stands and organisers. Every file is drawn to cut cleanly: closed paths, no doubled lines, parts that stay connected, and joints sized for your material thickness and kerf.
Need laser cut files and laser cutting files that fit together first time? We draw laser cut SVG and laser cut DXF files for your material thickness and your machine, with clean closed paths and the right kerf allowance, so pieces assemble without sanding or glue gaps.

What a good cut file needs
- Single, closed paths — open or doubled lines cut twice or leave pieces attached
- Parts that stay connected, or bridges added so letters and shapes do not drop out
- Slots, tabs and joints drawn to your actual material thickness
- Kerf allowance on press-fit and interlocking parts
- Detail no finer than the material can hold — thin plywood strands snap and acrylic slivers melt
- Score and engrave lines on their own colour layers

Materials we design for
| Material | Typical thickness | Design notes |
|---|---|---|
| Plywood and basswood | 3 mm and 6 mm | Most popular; allow for kerf on joints |
| MDF | 3 mm and 6 mm | Clean edges; charred edges are normal |
| Acrylic | 2 mm to 6 mm | Polished flame edge; avoid tiny slivers |
| Cardstock and paper | Paper weights | Very fine detail possible |
| Leather and felt | Thin sheets | Simple shapes; avoid hairline detail |
| Cardboard | Corrugated | Prototypes and packaging |
Tell us your exact material thickness — 3 mm plywood is rarely exactly 3 mm — and we draw slots and tabs to match.
File formats
SVG works in Glowforge, xTool Creative Space, LightBurn and Cricut Design Space. DXF is the standard for CNC machines and most industrial lasers. We include AI, EPS and PDF on request. See Glowforge, xTool and LightBurn files.
How it works
- Send your idea, artwork or a sketch, with size, material and thickness
- We quote a price per design
- We draw the file and send a proof
- You approve or ask for changes
- You receive cut-ready files by email
Laser cutting designs for wood, acrylic and paper
Laser cutting designs behave differently in 3 mm plywood, 6 mm MDF, cast acrylic and 300 gsm cardstock. We set bridge widths, minimum gaps and slot sizes for the material you name, so delicate parts survive the cut and interlocking joints hold. Wood laser cut files, acrylic laser cutting files, MDF cut files, leather cutting SVGs and paper laser cut SVGs are all drawn to their own rules.
Laser cut templates and project files
- Laser cut box templates, finger joint boxes and living hinge patterns
- Laser cut signs, name signs, door signs and business sign templates
- Laser cut ornaments, gift tags, bookmarks, keychains and earrings
- Laser cut wall art, clocks, frames, lanterns and home decor
- Laser cut organisers, phone stands, coasters and trays
- Laser cut puzzles, gears, model kits and architectural models
Every laser cut project file comes with layers separated by operation (cut, score and engrave) and, for anything that assembles, a simple assembly guide.
Laser cut vector files your software can open
We supply laser cut vector files as SVG, DXF, AI, EPS and PDF, so they open in LightBurn, xTool Creative Space, the Glowforge app, Inkscape, Illustrator and CorelDRAW. Laser cutting templates for a Cricut or other blade cutter can be supplied too, with tiny details removed that a blade cannot cut.
Ready-made laser cut bundles are on their way. For now, if you want a laser cut design bundle on one theme, such as mandalas, floral patterns, animal silhouettes or Christmas ornaments, we design the set to order.
Common questions
Do you sell ready-made laser cut bundles?
A library of ready-made laser cut designs is on the way. Right now every file is drawn to order for your project and material.
Can you add assembly instructions?
Yes. Boxes, stands and model kits come with a simple assembly guide.
Can I sell the products I make from my custom file?
Custom files made from your own design are yours to use, including on products you sell.
Will it cut on my Cricut?
Thin materials like cardstock and vinyl, yes. See Cricut SVG files.
What is kerf, and do your laser cutting files allow for it?
Kerf is the width of material the laser burns away. For press-fit and slotted designs we adjust slot widths for your material and laser, so joints are snug rather than loose.
Can you convert my drawing or photo into a laser cut file?
Yes. Send a sketch, image or logo and we trace it into a clean vector with closed shapes, ready to cut.
