What fire departments order

Designing a station patch
Station patches are where crews get creative. Mascots, skylines and apparatus are all common. A few rules keep them clean in thread:
- Keep the station number and name large. They are what people read first
- Keep lettering large. Embroidered text needs to be about 5 mm tall to stay readable
- Up to nine thread colours are included. Most good patches use five or six
- Red, black and gold read well on almost any fabric
Send a sketch if you do not have finished artwork. We digitise it as part of the price, and you see the result on a free proof first.
Sizes and pricing
Embroidered fire department patches start at $0.75 a piece. Size is the average of height and width, so a 3.5 by 4.5 inch shoulder patch is priced as a 4 inch patch. Every backing is included.

Honest limits: thread is matched as closely as thread allows, so a small shift against a printed Pantone chip is normal, and very fine detail is flagged on the proof before you approve it.
Common questions
What is the minimum order?
50 pieces per design. Many stations order 100 so they can trade and give them out at events.
Can you recreate an old department patch?
Yes. Send a clear photo and the size. We redraw it and show you the proof before production.
Can you add a Maltese cross or a department seal?
Yes. Send the seal artwork. Very fine seal text may need to be simplified to stay readable, and we will flag that on the proof.
Can I order patches for a fundraiser?
Yes. Commemorative and fundraiser patches are common orders. Order early if you have an event date. Rush production is free.
